Ellison grew up in Virginia, right outside of Washington DC, with his family and they never moved from the house he was born into. It was a peaceful existence, living in a pleasantly historic suburban district and he was never wanting for childhood friends. Despite the large number of children in his neighborhood, he tended to stick close to his older brother, following him around whenever he found the chance. His brother, Galen, to his credit, never turned him down so as they grew they became best friends, to the point that Ellison practically hero-worshipped his sibling. Throughout grade school and middle school, Galen was sure to protect his younger brother in whatever manner possible, though since Ellison was an agreeable child very seldom did his brother have to raise a fist. Initially, six-year old Ellison was jealous when his younger sister, Mariel, was born, as children often are and picked on her until she was seven or eight and had formed a sufficiently thick skin and sharp tongue to return fire with. At this point, they developed an antagonistic but deep friendship. Despite his early jealousy, he did not grown up with the 'middle child' syndrome as some children do, which was probably lucky for his parents since they would have had no clue how to deal with their son in that light.
Ellison was never a social butterfly, so his few close friends, including his brother, perfectly filled his needs for companionship. In high school, he kept an impressive GPA, good enough to keep him in the top 20 students in his school. In addition, he took part in both the art and computer clubs as well as his school's honors society. Basically, he was a top-notch student, poised to enter any number of universities with his outstanding record, though he probably was not within the ranks of the Harvard or Yale-bound. In the latter half of his high school career, Galen applied to a number of colleges: all out of state and some out of the country. Though Ellison was fond of his school-friends and his sister nothing could match his relationship with Galen, so he found himself a bit unhappy at the prospect of Galen's proposed colleges . When Galen was accepted to a university in England and made the decision to study there, Ellison found himself sinking into a depression. After his brother made the move, Ellison's psychic abilities raised their head, in a particularly nasty incident, which left him with mental scars and a fear of his family's basement to this day. After this shock, they went into what could be called 'remission' and he seldom saw visions for a few years, but always wore his gloves in hopes that it might protect him from unwanted visions. However, it had already made an impression on him and he lost much of his appetite: for food or interaction with many individuals.
Once graduated from high school, he applied to a number of schools himself and found that he was impressive enough to follow in his brother's footsteps. Even so, he was accepted to a number of colleges in the US and eventually chose the University of Michigan. His first two years there consisted of four different majors and various changing minors as well. As he was debating what his fifth major change would be, he stumbled upon an idea that bored college students often discover: dropping out.He did just that and decided to start his own business. Between loans and what he had saved from his part time jobs, he managed to start up a little hole in the wall business, by now it's turned out successful enough that he can easily live off of the profits while affording an employee or two as well as repaying his loans.
Despite his monetary success, he finds it difficult to interact on a meaningful level with people. He disdains most human contact and ever since the end of high school he has come to see them as a means to an end, rather than unique individuals worth interacting with due to their own merits. In fact, many people might be tempted to call him a sociopath. This isn't entirely true, however. Ever since starting college he has had muted flashes of clairsentience and has been contemplating making an attempt to use the information he gains for his own purposes.
Ellison is all my creature, but his PB, Rupert Smith, definitely is not.
